It was her first night in New York. Her apartment was big enough to easily host three people but she was alone in threre. Her fiancé was miles away from her and she felt the pain of his absence in the depths of her heart. Every now and then she would feel a twitch in her chest but she got so used to it that it didn’t even brought her to tears anymore. She wondered what he was doing right now… Yes, she felt lonely. Her feet started moving towards the window, without her even noticing. She looked out into the sky. It was hard to see the stars in New York, but like a little miracle, the sky was as clear as it used to be on a summerday in Lima. The stars sparkled down on her, as if they were watching over the girl, but she was looking for one star only. Her own star, Finn Hudson.

The next day was her first day in NYADA. She had to sing in front of everyone, just as everybody else had to, as well. She was more nervous than usual, because she knew, this was not Ohio anymore. This was New York and there were tons of other people just as good or even better than her. Her heart was beating against her chest as she was walking down the stairs. What if something went wrong? What if she choked again, just as she did at her audition for this school? Was she really good enough for this? Suddenly she felt something vibrating in her bag. It was her phone. When she put it out she saw that she had received a message. It was from Finn. Her heart made a tiny jump and then she clicked ‘open text message’. “Break a leg. Finn.” Even if they were apart, Finn was always there for her, saying the right things at the right time. He once told her he thought they were tethered, like an invisible tie was bonding them. He said he was always feeling it when she was needing him. Rachel had to smile. Everything was going to go well. She knew it now.

Remember when Finn Hudson named a star after him so whenever his girlfriend/fiancé feels alone she can always look up in the sky to know he’s looking down on her? This gets a whole new significance after last night’s episode.
